Inspired

I went to check out GoLiveTheDream.com today and found a video of Joe Markiewicz telling a little bit about his pursuit of his dream.

Joe Markiewicz for Live the Dream! from Blake Kuhn on Vimeo.

If you have extra time, check out Blake Kuhn's (a friend of a friend) website (clothing/blog/success stores) GoLiveTheDream.com.  But having heard Joe talk before I was definitely interested in this, and I hope you took the time to watch that video. And if you have dreams, go after them no matter what. You're going to have border bullies to deal with, people telling you that you CAN'T do something, yourself telling you that you CAN'T do something, but I tell you, whatever you dream is, whatever you set your mind to, you can do it if you put forth everything you have.

Video Games

yeah, I'm addicted. I used to play MW2 a lot, but then sniping got boring so I kept playing MLB 2K10, but I just switched back to Call of Duty and I'm no longer sniping.  Now I'm dominating people with throwing knives. Check out my first montage.

First Time For Everything

I know this is going to sound unAmerican, but I played in my first softball game tonight.  Never played a game of softball or baseball in my life until now.  I've always wanted to, because I love watching baseball, and I've played basically every other sport out there.  I can't thank the guys enough for giving me the opportunity to play with them.  Only next time I'll do a little better than 0 for 3.  I did draw a walk though, and eventually came across home to score a run.  And I might have had the most embarrassing moment of the night- I was playing catcher and a foul tipped up maybe 3 feet in front of me...and I dropped it haha But his next swing he flew out, so it didn't look TOO bad out there for me.  I felt more embarrassed than I should've been, but I was so nervous and shaky 'cause my team was amazing!  That's actually an understatement.  We were down early, but rallied back to get the victory.  I definitely see more softball in my future.

Random Hobbies

I get really bored sometimes...like REALLY bored. So I look for hobbies that I enjoy doing and try to get really good at them really fast. I'm kind of impatient with some of them.  Most of the time I start something new and don't follow through with it, which is probably why I always have to find new hobbies.  I game a lot, which is probably the only hobby that I've done consistently for awhile. I still play basketball and go to the gym, but when I'm bored at home at night, those aren't always available.  And even though I can't believe I'm gonna say this, gaming gets boring sometimes.  But one day I got really bored and made a midnight trip to WalMart and bought a $5 Nerf Basketball goal.  You have no idea how entertaining that can be. It went from normal shots, to extreme shots haha. Here's a clip of what I mean.

Yeah, ridiculous right? I know, it looks like I have no life, and it's because I don't, but some of those shots took like 30 tries to finally make. It's not a bad hobby, but just like all the other ones, it gets kinda old...really fast.  There's only so much you can do with a goal in your bedroom.  But if you get bored, this is definitely something you should try.

From the Beginning...

On September 26th, 1989, I jumped out of my mom's belly.  Well, I was pulled out. Same thing.  At that time is where the most confusing thing ever happened.
You see, my mom was married for the first time to a guy named Jim.  With him, she had my bro Josh.  The marriage wasn't going so hot, so she filed for divorce.  During the divorce, before it was final, she met my dad.  They got drunk, made whoopie, and since my dad was big into his church at the time, he proposed so the pregnancy wouldn't look premarital.  Things didn't work out as planned, their engagement didn't last long, and Dad traveled from Indiana to Tennessee to Oklahoma and then California.  9 months later, I was tired of being locked up.  Dad was on a train to witness his first son's birth.  He got stuck in Chicago, however.  My mom was irate.  At the time, her last name was the same as her husband's, Hill.  So that's the name I got stuck with- Shawn Hill.  My mom later got remarried, divorced, remarried again and divorced again.  She now has her maiden name.  So let's clear things up a bit.  My dad's last name is Brown.  My mom's last name is Carver.  My last name is...Hill?

First Official Blog!

I've had MySpace, Facebook, and Twitter for some time now, but never actually blogged. Crazy huh? Well, I usually just use those sites for networking.  Now is time for some real blogging, which may lead to vlogging on YouTube. Well, I'm at work and should probably be doing something productive right now, so I'm going to act like I'm doing something.
God Bless

P.S. My username for everything is Shilltacular, so if you'd like to befriend me on MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, or YouTube, just look it up. MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. I also play a lot of online video games, so if you have XBOX Live add me on there too...of course the gamertag is Shilltacular =]
